At Lion Sands you have a choice of three luxury lodges: (i) Ivory Lodge, (ii) River Lodge and (iii) The 1933 Lodge.

Room Types

(i) Ivory Lodge
Ivory Lodge comprises of six privately situated villas. Each villa has a separate living room, heated swimming pool and an open plan en-suite bathroom with an enclosure for the outdoor shower and is decorated in a ebony and ivory colour scheme. The lodge is designed to ensure privacy is enjoyed by all its guests.

Public Areas @ Ivory Lodge
At the public areas at Ivory Lodge, guests can enjoy the following: private bar with fireplace, a library lounge, well stocked wine cellar, wooden viewing decks, a magnificent River Island Deck built on the river, Lalamuka Health Spa & gymnasium, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area.

(ii) River Lodge
Experience a magnificent sunrise at River lodge built on the banks of the Sabi River. It is hosted by a family of staff that reflects the warm spirit of Africa guaranteeing a stay that will be looked back on with fondness.

The 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms offer protection from the Lowveld heat. Tastefully decorated in rich creams and beige each room has an en-suite bathroom, outdoor and inside shower and wooden viewing deck. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. All rooms have mini-bar and telephone access. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways.

The public areas at River Lodge offers guests the following: a private lounge and bar with fireplace, an outdoor safari lounge, 2 swimming pools (heated in winter), wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, a magnificent River Island Deck built on the river, a conference room, Lalamuka Health Spa & gymnasium, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area.

(iii) The 1933 Lodge
Being a family owned lodge, 1933 perfectly combines warmth and homeliness with a world class luxury safari experience. The four spacious suites in classic contemporary décor each have their own private view of the river.

A children’s dormitory is also provided which accommodates a maximum of 8 children and has an interleading room convenient for an au pair.

Leaving no stone unturned with every convenience imaginable; from your own private chef and ranger to the exclusive use of a 4X4 for game drives it is sure to be a memorable and very relaxing stay.
